Threat Level Specifications

Our doors are laboratory tested to withstand multiple levels of ballistic impact in accordance with UL 752 standards. Levels 1–3 are the most common, providing protection against standard handgun calibers:

  • Level 1 – .38 caliber
  • Level 2 – .357 caliber
  • Level 3 – .44 caliber

Each door is constructed using heavy-duty 14-gauge cold-rolled steel and built to meet or exceed ADA, ANSI, ASTM, and SDI requirements.

All components of a fire-rated assembly—including the wall, door frame, door, and hardware—must carry the appropriate fire rating. The door must be self-closing and equipped with a positive latching mechanism; push/pull plates are not allowed on fire-rated doors. UL-approved hinges are also required.
